Authorities have identified a 19-year-old suspect as the shooter. According to police, the shooter had an assault-style rifle and appeared to shoot at random. Officers on the scene shot and killed the suspect within one minute of the shooting.

Witnesses reported seeing a second individual who has not yet been identified or found. A manhunt is underway for this possible second suspect, though the extent to which this second person may have been involved or participated in the shooting is unknown.

Three people, including a six-year-old boy, were killed with an assault-type rifle in an active shooting Sunday, July 28th, 2019 in Gilroy, California–at least 12 more were injured.

According to Bloomberg, over the past two years, the NRA has spent over $9.6M lobbying lawmakers and federal agencies. Tweets offering thoughts and prayers have been released from public officials since the attack.
